IPO Investor Categories
• Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB)—Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) are large, sophisticated investors, such as mutual funds, insurance companies, pension funds, and hedge funds, who are considered to have the expertise and resources to evaluate investment opportunities, ensure Standards are met, and allow retail investors to purchase shares at a price below the offering price.
• Non-Institutional Investors (NII) - Non-institutional investors (NIIs) on the
other hand, generally consist of individual investors, high net worth is individuals
“HNIs”, or the companies that do not meet the financial criteria a be the classified
as the QIBs & allowed to the participate in the Initial Public Offering IPOs
at the same price as the retail investors.
NII category has two subcategories:
1. sNII - "sNII" means "Small Non-Institutional
Investor". This sub-category includes investors who have the shares worth ₹2
lakh and ₹10 lakh in Initial Public Offering IPO.
2. bNII - "bNII" means "large non-institutional
investor". This sub-category includes investors who have the shares worth
more than ₹10 lakh in this Swiggy IPO Initial Public Offering IPO.
• Retail Individual Investors (RII) - The employee (EMP) category in an Initial
Public Offering IPO is reserved for the employees, directors & the
associate employees of the issuing company, and the issuing company Initial
Public Offering IPO's chief executive officer determine the allocation of
shares in this category for this IPO.
• Employee (EMP)- The Employee “EMP” category in the Initial Public
Offering IPO is reserved for the employees, directors, & the business
associates of the issuer company, & the allocation of shares to this
category is determined by the issuer company and the lead manager of the “Initial
Public Offering” IPO.
• Others- An eligible group of shareholders or other investors with investments in an Initial Public Offering IPO.
